Classification of computer by size
On the basis of size,we can classify computer into five groups:mobile computers, microcomputers, minicomputers, mainframescomputers, and supercomputers.
Mobile computers
Mobile computers are the smallest computers, designed to be carried around by users.laptops, tablets, personal data assistants(PDAs),and portable media players(PMPs) are all mobile computers.
Micro computers
A micro computer is small computer that is used by one person at a time. The desktop computer that you can see in most office's, schools, colleges, and homes are microcomputer. They are also called personal computers(pcs).Mini computers
Mini are larger than microcomputers, typically the same size as a refrigerator. Minicomputers were first produced in the 1960s.In the 1980s, they were replaced by microcomputers, which have become smaller and more powerful over time. The CDC 160A, DEC PDP, and SDS-92 are examples of minicomputers.Mainframes computers
Mainframes are large, powerful, and expensive multi-user computer. They are mainly used for bulk data processing in a large organization such as governments, airlines, and banks. The IBM zEnterprise and Unisys ClearPath are examples of mainframes.

Super computers
Super computers are largest and most powerful computers. They often occupy whole rooms. They can process trillions of instructions per second.Governments and large industries use them for work that requires a lot of numeric calculation, such as weather forecasting. The Cray-1 and IBM ASCI White are examples of super computers.
